Hereford Guild of Mayor’s Guides invites you to join our guided walks in this Historic city – a Cathedral city with a fascinating past and a busy present. Its origins lie in the 7th century and its strategic site on the Wye, in the much-disputed borderland between England and Wales, made it as important to the Saxons as to the Normans and their successors. Come and explore Hereford through its historic buildings and landmarks, hearing tales from medieval times to today, including its role in the Civil War and an introduction to some of its famous people. Our commentary will bring the city’s past alive and reveal hidden depths that may surprise you!
Bespoke tours for groups available all year round. We keep groups to a maximum of 15 and can provide as many guides as needed. Duration is normally 60 – 90 minutes but can be adjusted to suit requirements, usually starting from the Cathedral Close. Coaches can be met at the drop off point near the Cathedral West front.
