Helmingham is conveniently located between Ipswich and Bury St. Edmunds on the B1077, with plenty of opportunities to include other stops nearby. Tour the award-winning, Grade 1 listed Gardens designed by world-renowned, Chelsea Gold Medallist Garden Designer – Lady Xa Tollemache. The stunning gardens surround the moated 16th century Hall, which has been the Tollemache family home for over 500 years. Enclosing the Hall and Gardens, is a 400-acre deer park accessible by public footpaths. The park is home to a plethora of wildlife, but most notably the herds of Red and Fallow Deer and Soay Sheep. Our interpretation area and guidebook provide detailed information for visitors wishing to find out more about the rich heritage and history of Helmingham. The team at Helmingham produce an outstanding programme of events throughout the year, including our nationally recognised Illuminated Garden Trail.
