Visitors are warmly welcomed to this award-winning art gallery. Housed in a Grade I listed Georgian mansion remodelled by Robert Adam.  The gallery is surrounded by 120 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland which is home to contemporary art commissions, a restored thatched Ice House, a chapel designed by Capability Brown and restored accessible footpaths through woodland.

Pre-booked groups of 15 or more benefit from discounts on admission, a range of specialist tours, a free introductory talk, free admission for coach drivers and tour guides and a wide range of catering options from simple picnic packs to a lavish buffet in the magnificent Adam Hall.

The permanent collections at Compton Verney include: Neapolitan paintings from the ‘Golden Age’ of Italian art (1600-1800), Germanic art from 1450-1650; British portraits featuring work by Sir Joshua Reynolds and a collection of Tudor portraits; one of Europe’s finest collections of Chinese bronzes; the UK’s largest collection of British Folk Art and the Marx-Lambert collection, featuring work by textile designer Enid Marx.

If your group would prefer to enjoy lunch on an individual basis they can enjoy a refreshing break in our waitress service café.  Here they serve a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, which are freshly prepared using seasonal produce.  During busy times we also have a coffee bar for light snacks, tea, coffee and cakes.
