In 1938 a novice gardener and her ex Daily Mail editor husband bought a derelict chicken farm at East Lambrook in Somerset. 31 years and eight gardening books later the by then famous plantswoman Margery Fish died leaving an extraordinary cottage garden of great beauty and charm. Four owners later, the by now world famous Grade 1 listed garden with specialist Margery Fish Plant Nursery is a national treasure, full of snowdrops, hellebores, geraniums and much more.
