A grade II* listed building and a fresh expression of a traditional sacred space, Guildford Cathedral is a fascinating part of our heritage:

  • The last Anglican Cathedral consecrated on a new site, in 1961
  • Of a unique design by Sir Edward Maufe, combining gothic tradition and 20th century construction techniques
  • The only “arts and crafts” Cathedral, influenced in its simple aesthetic design and decoration
  • uniquely funded by more than 200,000 ordinary people who ‘bought a brick’ for 2s 6d in an extraordinary demonstration of modern community spirit

During your stay, you can enjoy lunch or afternoon tea at the Refectory, next to the Cathedral. Choose from a selection of home-made hot and cold lunches, snacks, cakes and drinks, including from the licensed bar.  Groups of 50-200 can be catered for.

Afterwards, look around the gift shop which sells souvenirs, greeting cards, books, jewellery and a wide range of gifts.
