Guildhall Art Gallery is home to a collection of works dating from 1670 to the present, including Pre-Raphaelite masterpieces and a range of paintings documenting London’s dramatic history. See the website for temporary exhibitions.

Hidden beneath the gallery is London’s Roman Amphitheatre, in which crowds would have once gathered to watch gladiatorial combats. The ruins were rediscovered by archaeologists in 1988.
