Delve into the beautiful eight acres of Myddelton House Gardens and visit the Bowles Museum to discover the compelling story of Edward Augustus Bowles one of BritainâÂÂs most famous self-taught gardeners, artists and expert botanists.
Guided tours
Discover the gardens in your own time or bring them to life by booking a guided tour with our Head Gardener or Senior Gardener. Choose between various different types of tours from history to plants. Alternatively, use the one hour audio guide to hear more about EA Bowles and his gardens.
Great for kids
Fun activity booklets are available from the Visitor Centre and are great for young children and school groups. Discover fun facts, answer questions and complete activities whilst you explore the gardens.
Have a bite to eat
During your visit be sure to take a break and stop off at the Bowles Tea Room which offers a range of food and drinks from soup to sandwiches, cream teas to coffee and cake. During the summer relax in our beautiful courtyard with a cool ice cream or warm up inside in the winter months with a hot jacket potato.
Pick up a souvenir
There is a small shop full of souvenirs, books, heritage seeds, E A Bowles memorabilia and we also sell a small selection of plants. Take something home with you to remind you of your visit to the gardens.
