For five-star film entertainment the Vue cinema can’t be beaten, showing all the lastest films. Explore the Ordsall Hall, Salford’s Grade I listed Tudor manor house which has been home to everyone from medieval gentry, Tudor nobility,  butchers, farmers, an Earl, an artist, priests, scout troops, mill workers,  and cows. Finish off your visit with a trip to BBC North and a tour of the MediaCityUK Studios and see where all your favourite shows are made.

Whether you’re a shopaholic or just someone who likes a bargain, the opening of the Lowry Outlet has made The Quays a mecca for the discerning shopper with big-name brand shops and stores offering discount prices – up to 70 per cent lower than the high street – all year round.

Sport  

There’s no better place to find top sport action than The Quays. Home to two of the most renowned clubs in British sport – Manchester United and The Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club. The Quays is the area to head for when wanting the best in football and cricket. Both have official shops too for you to pick up some official merchandise or souvenirs of your visit to the Northwest’s sporting mecca. And why not try your hand at Wake Boarding a cross between water sking and surfing, amongst more traditional water activities such as canoeing and sailing at Salford Watersports Centre.
