Now recognised as one of the finest gardens in Kent today, The Secret Gardens of Sandwich is almost entirely enclosed by ancient city walls. The Salutation manor house, designed by renowned English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, sits proudly in the middle of the stunning gardens that stretch around it.

The spirit and style of the original garden has been largely captured and boasts the beautiful White and Yellow Gardens and the elegant Bowling Lawn. Modern features have also been added including the Tropical Border and the tranquil Lake Patricia Island.

After a leisurely stroll around the grounds, the luxurious Salutation Tea Room which evokes the refined and elegant Edwardian pastime of ‘taking tea’ is open to guests and offers a selection of teas, coffees, luxury cakes, pastries and delicious light lunches.
