Tatton Park is celebrating The Magic of Beatrix Potter in 2013, with the highlight being a rare opportunity to see an exhibition of original watercolours which she created for her famous tales. These will be on display upstairs in the Amber Bedroom of the Mansion, which is also featuring a Mrs.Tiggy-winkle trail. Follow the Peter Rabbit trail through the Gardens and take inspiration from Beatrix Potter’s botanical drawings by getting creative with pencils and paper using the seasonal flowers and foliage as inspiration. The Farm is showing the other side of Beatrix Potter’s creativity and genius – her immense contribution to conservation in the countryside and farming.

Highlights of any visit to Tatton include paintings by Canaletto and Van Dyck in the Mansion drawing room, red and fallow deer at rest in the Parkland, the Japanese Garden, and ancient ferns from  New Zealand in the newly restored Conservatory.

Guided tours and Special Interest historical tours are offered at the Mansion, Gardens, Old Hall and working historic Farm, which bring to life the stories of the families who lived at the estate over its 300 hundred year history, both the estate workers and the Egerton family who lived here until 1958.

Special events are held throughout the year from car shows to theatre productions and of course the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park, Easter and Christmas events. Group visits should be pre-booked in order to qualify for discounted rates, which will also guarantee free coach parking plus a lunch voucher for the driver. Dedicated lunch and high tea packages are offered in the Stables Restaurant and Gardeners’ Cottage, which are situated alongside our speciality shops in the Stableyard.
